Who is the HFIA?

This Privacy Policy applies to the Health and Financial Independence Association (HFIA). The HFIA consists of member employers who have made a decision to self-fund their health benefits and use stop-loss insurance to manage their own financial risk. The HFIA provides information, education, networking opportunities, and support to its members. Throughout this Privacy Policy, we may refer to HFIA as “we,” “us” or “our.”

Federal and state privacy requirements establish the scope of our authority and responsibility to collect personal information for the purposes outlined above.

The Website provides information about stop-loss insurance for self-funded health plans; information about the specific stop-loss policy and insurer that provides reinsurance for your health plan; information about how your membership through HFIA works; and various resources that provide additional information for plan sponsors of self-funded health plans.
